How We Write
How We Write
Families make real decisions with what they read here, so we hold our care guides to a clinical standard.
Articles are written by the Bluelake care team, the people who coordinate in-home care for Michigan families every day. We write about what families actually ask us: staying safe at home, supporting a family caregiver, and paying for care.
Every article with health or safety guidance is reviewed by a licensed physician for clinical accuracy. Reviewed articles show the reviewer's name and the review date at the top of the page. An article marked "clinical review in progress" has not yet been signed off.
We rely on primary sources: federal health agencies such as the CDC, NIH, and CMS, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), and peer-reviewed research. Each article lists its sources.
Medicaid programs and clinical guidance change. We review every article at least once a year, and sooner when a program or guideline changes. The "updated" date shows the last substantive change.
Our articles are general information, not medical advice for any individual. Bluelake provides non-skilled, in-home care. Talk with your own doctor about medical questions. In an emergency, call 911.
If you spot something wrong, email info@bluelakehhc.com and we will review it promptly.
